I was at the dollar store a few weeks ago and spotted these adorable elves. They we're just too cute to pass up. I wanted to get a few for my friend's kids and Raven. Then at Target in the Dollar Spot I found the perfect bags to put them in to keep them safe on their travels to their new homes.
I used my Cricut to cut out the names and the bag design in HTV (heat transfer vinyl). I love how they came out! And Raven can't go anywhere with our her new elf friend.
This weekend I tried cutting my own nail decals for the first time. I have to say I'm totally hooked! I can't get over how cute they are! And they're a great way to use up all those little scraps of vinyl I can't bring myself to throw away.
Here's how you can make your own with the Cricut Explore.
First upload the images you want for your decals and size them to fit your nails. I made the width of mine around 0.25 to 0.30in.
Once you have them the size you want, hit 'Go' to get to your mat layout. There I duplicated my images to have as many as I needed. Make sure to cut more than you think you'll need. Since they're so little and delicate, you might mess up a few when your weeding them.
For your cut settings, turn the dial on your machine to 'Custom' and change your setting in the drop down menu to 'Washi Tape'. This setting allows for very detailed and delicate cuts. I used outdoor grade Oracal (651) vinyl but I think a less sticky indoor type vinyl would work just fine too.
Ta-Daa!! And the're done! Then very carefully weed your images. I used a straight pin to get out the little pieces. All that's left is applying them to your nails.
I can't wait to make more. I'm just amazed at how small the Explore cuts.

I've been seeing super cute glitter Mason jar night lights on Pinterest lately and I wanted to try making one for Raven's room. I didn't have a Mason jar handy but I did have a giant salsa jar to use. I could not believe how easy it was to make. Now I want to glitter everything!!
Here's what you need to get started:
1. A clean jar
2. Floor cleaner (I used Pledge floor care)
3. Extra fine glitter
4. A LED light or battery operated tea light
First, pour the floor cleaner into the jar. Make sure to coat the entire jar. Then let the excess liquid drip out. (Ozzy wanted to help)
Then pour in your glitter and coat the inside of the jar. I slowly spinned the jar on it’s side to get an even coat.
Next shake out the excess glitter and let the jar dry. Even though my jar is huge it didn’t take very much glitter at all. For extra fanciness, I made a raven decal and applied it to the outside of the jar
For the last step I put velcro on the inside of the jar lid and velcro on the bottom of my LED light. I also added a little ribbon around the neck of the jar.
I think it fits right in with the rest of her decor. Now I'm off to glitter everything else in the house.
I'm so excited about the decal I made for my car. Now everyone will know I'm a nerd. :)
